Five websites with free images (but the good ones)

Image is important in almost everything. It’s always an advantage to give a good image. And in blog articles, the same thing happens: the fundamental part is the written content, what we say and how we say it… but the images we use can either capture attention or scare people away.

Unless we have our own material (which is always the best possible scenario), it’s normal to make use of resources from others… in which case, it is mandatory to cite where we got that material from. However, many times, we can’t afford this option.

In these cases, the best solution is to use image banks that can help us out of a tight spot. Typically, image banks have two main problems. The first is that they have quite limited options, and if we generate many posts, finding the right image for each one can be a nightmare. The second big problem is that quality, unless we can pay for it, is often lacking.

When it comes to saving, we tend to do so with images. But beware, saving doesn’t mean lowering the bar, and to avoid that, we have free images.

Here we have a few go-to places that we’ve collected thanks, we hope they help you!

PICJUMBO

Contains very colorful images of more or less everyday situations. Generally not very artistic, but it can get you out of a bind.

LITTLE VISUALS

One of our favorite sites. It’s filled with artistic and minimalist photographs, very evocative for certain content.

NEW OLD STOCK

We’ve used this very few times because it contains old photographs, many of them in black and white. Nonetheless, it offers high quality, good images, and surely interesting options for many blogs.

UNSPLASH

Another of the favorites, very similar to Little Visuals. Although it offers a bit of everything, a large percentage of its repository consists of landscape photos.

PIKWIZARD

A website with more than 100,000 free images, of which about 20,000 are exclusive to the site. The best thing about this page is that they have tons of images of people, something that’s not common in most stock photo sites. And of course, they can be used freely without attribution. Highly recommended.
